Hillsborough County Commissioners appoints Isabel Dewey to the Children’s Services Advisory Board

Tampa, FL, January 24, 2016 – On November 16, 2016, Women’s Exchange member Isabel Dominicis Dewey was appointed to a four-year term to the Children’s Services Advisory Board by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. The Children’s Services Advisory Board examines and advises on the development and operation of programs that treat children with special needs.

The Advisory Board advises on training programs, homeless and runaway youth programs, domestic violence programs, child care licensing, clinical outreach and residential treatment programs for children in Hillsborough County.  The Board works closely with the Hillsborough County Children’s Services Center that serves as a foster home for adolescent youth.

Isabel Dewey has a fifteen-year career in Management Consulting with IBM Global Business Services (GBS).  She currently oversees all education and knowledge sharing for 120,000 consultants globally across the twelve industries IBM operates in.  Ms. Dewey has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Mass Media Communication, summa cum laude, from Florida State University and a Master of Public Policy Degree from the University of Chicago.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Dewey is a devoted community volunteer.  Through the Junior League of Tampa, an organization of 1,900 women committed to promoting volunteerism and improving communities, Ms. Dewey has served as the Public Affairs Chair, leading the advocacy efforts of the organization for four years with a focus on improving child hunger, education, and eradicating human trafficking. In addition, she was chosen to represent the 11,000 Junior League members across Florida as the State Public Affairs Chair overseeing the statewide platform of advocacy.  She consistently demonstrates her commitment to improving the lives of youth and community and was recognized as the Junior League’s ‘Inspiring Leader of the Year’ for 2015-2016, which is the highest honor bestowed upon an active member of the organization.  Additionally, Ms. Dewey is a volunteer through the PTA and serves as Cub Scout Den Leader.
